Masks Optional Now: If You're Fully Vaccinated
UPDATE 9/10/21 COVID Surged Again. Masks Are Back.
Control of COVID-19. Masks Optional Now: If You're Fully Vaccinated. Based on revised CDC guidelines, we are glad to be able to relax, but not eliminate personal protective measures.
Over the last few weeks we have been comfortable rolling back some of the pandemic protection measues. Full vaccination status now means those individuals can avoid wearing a mask or face covering in our facility. We have relaxed limits on seating within the lobby, temperature checks, symptom and exposure questionnaire. This also means that our fully vaccinated staff can be without masks too. We get to see your faces! You get to see our faces again!
In a poignant conversation two months ago, a patient was in for her one-year post-op check following breast reduction. This was her final visit with us. At the end of the visit, she said she had one final question, "would it be okay for us to take our masks off briefly. I haven't seen your face this entire time." It was great to see each other's faces for the first time. It was delightful to share this and shows how much we have missed normal human interaction.
Of course, masks are still a normal part of infection prevention in our surgical procedures. Masks are also worn by our injectors when working close to your face.
