Patients reported that 74% researched their provider's credentials on multiple platforms prior to getting a procedure. Eighty percent researched the provider's degree and board certification online. 92% of respondents said they would pay more for a board certified dermatologist or plastic srugeon, rather than a MedSpa technician. 79% considered both before and after photos and online reviews when making their decisions. When social media was used, Instagram was the preferred platform for 49% of the patients, followed by Facebook, LinkeIn, then TikTok. However, only 35% of patients thought the internet was their main source of information.
Text messages and e-mail were the preferred method of communication of 63% of the respondents. 46% preferred the telephone.

The most important considerations were natural looking results (76%), natural feeling results (65%), procedure safety (55%), then price (50%).
