Arm Contouring / Lift: Case 3 (11658)
Description
This 43 year old woman was referred by her physician (a dermatologist) for treatment of large, heavy arms. She was an otherwise healthy, 5' 3", 235 pound, African-American woman. Prior surgery elsewhere healed without scar thickening, keloid or hypertrophy. Dr. Graham discussed options; liposuction alone wouldn't improve loose skin, but could be used with skin excision, known as brachioplasty or arm tuck / arm lift surgery. Under anesthesia, liposuction removed about 1.5 liters of fat, then a long, wide section of skin was removed from the inner upper arm. Her scar did develop thickening, but improved over several months time. Photos from the back show an improved, proportional contour after surgery. Sleeves fit much better now and she is very pleased. "Dr. Graham was an excellent surgeon. The staff was great."
