Ear Correction / Otoplasty: Case 1 (06827)
Description
This 9 year old boy was referred by a physician because he and his parents wanted to improve his ear appearance. The ears protruded out from his head rather far. They looked too prominent. His hearing was fine. He had a common condition in which the inner folds of the ear do not form completely. Surgery to create more normal folds is done to give a more typical ear appearance, and eliminate prominent ears. Because of his age, this was done under anesthesia (but it can be done under local for adults). The improvement is obvious. He was pleased as were his parents. "We were very impressed with his procedure."
