Facial Facelift / Necklift: Case 25 (579389)
Description
This 69 year old woman requested facial rejuvenation through surgical procedures and non-surgical treatments. She wanted to reduce facial wrinkles. She wanted to remove skin laxity in the cheeks, jawline, and neck. She wanted lower lid bags eliminated. She wanted to reduce lines around her mouth. She had seen Dr. Graham's work and consulted him for solutions. Our suggestions began with surgical facelift - combining deep support the the SMAS and platysma with gentle re-draping of the facia and neck skin. The SMAS indicates superficial muscle-aponeurotic system, the fibrous layer that supports cheek and jowl fat. The platysma is one of the pair of broad flat muscles that extend from the jawline to near the collar bones, and which produce the vertical cords or bands under the chin. Lower eyelid fat pads (bags) would be removed. Skin resurfacing would be done with our ErbiumYAG laser to treat general skin wrinkles and lines, including around the mouth. Regular Botox would minimize the frown lines, active forehead lines, and crow's feet. The procedure was done in our accredited in-house OR under anesthesia. Careful postop care and frequent follow-up visits assured her best healing.
