Body Tummy Tuck / Abdominoplasty: Case 16 (21104)
Description
42 y/o professional woman who had 3 previous pregnancies and was left with rectus diastasis (muscle separation) lax tone of the abdominal wall and skin, with little excess fat. She experienced mild daily back pain. A small hernia in the umbilicus distorted its appearance. There was moderate fat excess in her flanks (often called "love handles"). She was otherwise healthy and active. Her procedures were liposuction of the flanks and abdominoplasty, performed in our nationally accredited in-office surgical suite. 600ml of fat were suctioned away. A 1 pound section of skin was removed from the lower abdomen. Her muscle separation was tightened with permanent internal sutures. Her recovery was smooth. She stopped pain meds 5 days after surgery. She attended a child's out-of-town athletic competition 2 1/2 weeks postop. A touch-up procedure was done to improve the appearance of her belly button under local anesthesia. She was complimentary of her care and Dr. Graham's staff, and noted that her low back pain had improved.
