Body Tummy Tuck / Abdominoplasty: Case 23
Description
This 35yo mom of 4 children who consulted us about her tummy and flanks. She was most bothered by the hanging loose skin around the front of her abdomen. The flank fullness was also a problem. She was otherwise in good health and well informed about her options. We discussed incision length, choosing a longer one (extended abdominoplasty), without circling all of the way around the torso. Reducing the convex fullness of the hips or flanks was planned to improve her figure overall. The procedure was performed at our accredited in-house surgery facility. She went home without difficulty. Pain control was excellent. She showered the next day after surgery and began periodic dressing changes. A drain tube and reservoir were removed at her first office visit without discomfort. She was standing straight in little more than one week. She returned to work in 2 weeks. These photos are early in the post-op recovery - taken at 2 months. The incisions will fade and contour will improve further. Photos also show the specimen of tummy skin and fat which was trimmed off, and the flank fat removed by liposuction.
