Breast Reduction: Case 22 (19371)
Description
This 48 y/o black woman was referred by her OB/GYN for help with back, neck and shoulder pain caused by her very large breasts. She was otherwise healthy, 5' 6" and 172#, with 30 K cup size bras from a professional bra fitter. She wished to decrease to a more manageable and proportional D cup. Her right was larger than her left. She had had a benign biopsy 20 years age. There was no family history of breast disease. After insurance approval her surgery was done at one of the area hospitals as an out-patient. Dr. Graham removed 1260 gm from the right and 1150 gm from her left, in order to relieve her symptoms and optimize her appearance. That equals 5 1/4 pounds. After appropriate recovery, she shopped for department store bras and was measured at 36-38 D cup. Such an improvement! Her back, neck and shoulder pain were gone.
