Breast Lift / Mastopexy: Case 27 (18158)
Description
This 33 y/o woman wanted to have her prior breast augmentation improved. She was referred by a friend who had been a patient in our practice. She had breast drooping (grade 3 ptosis). Her left side implant was higher, firmer and somewhat painful (capsular contracture). Her prior breast augmentation was done in another state 10 years earlier. She felt that 400ml implants were too large and her sagging developed after multiple children. She wanted her breasts lifted and a modestly smaller size. Fortunately, since her prior implants were saline, we could use local anesthesia and deflate them (remove the saline) prior to surgery, which allowed her to try on new implants and determine her best size. (Planned pre-op deflation.) She chose 270ml. We were able to make the areolas smaller. Her procedure was performed in our accredited in-house surgical facility and recovery was smooth. She stopped prescription pain medicine the next day. "Easiest surgery I've ever had," she told us.
